Opera in the Park Returns for Its 50th Anniversary
On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the sounds of soaring arias and powerful duets will once again fill Robin Williams Meadow as Opera in the Park celebrates its 50th year in Golden Gate Park. Presented by San Francisco Opera, this beloved annual tradition draws thousands for a day of free, world-class music under the open sky — and it's only a short ride from Hotel Julian.
What to Expect at Opera in the Park
From 1:30–3:30 PM, San Francisco Opera’s leading voices from the 2025–2026 season will take the stage for an unforgettable program of operatic favorites. Whether you’re an opera aficionado or a curious first-timer, the event is a uniquely San Francisco experience — welcoming, elegant, and deeply moving.
Last year’s event drew over 30,000 people, and with this year marking the 50th anniversary, expect an even bigger crowd and celebratory atmosphere. Families, music lovers, and picnic enthusiasts arrive early with blankets and lawn chairs to claim the best spots.
