Hotel Julian - An Original Remix

Hotel Julian is where San Francisco’s cultural undercurrent rises to the surface—a refined retreat reimagined through art, mood, and memory. Here, the echoes of a historic past meet a distinctly modern rhythm, creating a space that feels both composed and unexpected.
Tucked into the city’s creative corridor, Julian invites guests into a world of visual encounters and elevated comforts. From the rotating outdoor gallery on our patio (Exhibit A) to the hushed theatricality of Carlotta’s Cocktail and Wine Bar, every corner is designed to intrigue.

Carlotta's - A seductive homage to San Francisco's timeless allure

Step into a setting where every corner—posh bar, cozy lounge, airy courtyard, or velvety mezzanine—feels like a scene from a classic. Designed for the socially curious, this is where vintage glamour flirts with modern mischief. The soundtrack seduces and the drinks arrive with just enough drama.

More than just decor—it’s cinematic. Every detail is intentional. It feels like you’ve stepped into a story.

Exhibit A

An Original Remix of Art in Place

Julian’s rotating outdoor art series is presented in our open-air patio gallery. Each installation offers a new perspective—inviting guests and locals to engage with art in a setting designed for reflection and discovery.

Now on view: Overcast by Christopher Aiello-Escobar
San Francisco-based photographer Christopher Aiello-Escobar brings his eye for light, shadow, and form to this cinematic black-and-white study of the city’s architectural landscape. Overcast captures the quiet drama of everyday environments, transforming familiar structures into meditative visual experiences.

On view through August 15th.

San Franciscos Creative Corridor

From Mid-Market and SoMa through the Mission, Dogpatch, and parts of the Tenderloin, where art, design, tech, and performance intersect. It's where startups launch, murals evolve, galleries rotate, and film crews roll up in box trucks.

More specifically:

  • Mid-Market / SoMa: Home to tech headquarters, art institutions (like SFMOMA, YBCA), Black Cat jazz club, and adaptive reuse buildings filled with design studios.

  • The Tenderloin: Known for its gems—like cutting-edge theater at A.C.T.’s Strand Theater, Tenderloin Museum, and various experimental art spaces.

  • The Mission: A longtime epicenter of muralism, performance, and culinary innovation.

  • Dogpatch: Converted warehouses now house artist studios, craft breweries, and galleries like Minnesota Street Project.
