Flower Piano

Flower Piano: San Francisco’s Most Musical Garden Party

From September 12–21, 2025, the San Francisco Botanical Garden transforms into an open-air concert hall for one of the city's most whimsical and beloved events: Flower Piano.

Now in its 9th year, Flower Piano invites visitors to discover twelve beautifully placed pianos tucked among the gardens of Golden Gate Park. Whether you're wandering beneath towering redwoods or lounging in a sunny clearing, you'll encounter everything from jazz and classical to pop and experimental music — all in a lush, living landscape.

Music Meets Nature

This unique, interactive event draws over 20,000 people during its 10-day run and has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. In addition to scheduled performances by world-class musicians, the pianos are open to the public during select hours — so you might even sit down and play a tune yourself.

The result? A serene, photogenic, and surprisingly moving experience that merges artistic expression with botanical beauty. It's part music festival, part meditative retreat, and 100% San Francisco.

When You Go:

  • Scheduled performances take place across the garden each day
  • Early mornings and golden hour offer the best lighting for photos
  • Admission is included with entry to the Botanical Garden
  • Picnics are welcome — bring a blanket and soak it all in
